Teach a place command
A bed or mat a short distance from the door gives the dog somewhere to be. Build duration with no one at the door, then with knocking, then with a family member walking in, and only then with guests.
Manage while you train
Leash the dog or gate the entry for a few weeks. Every successful jump on a visitor rebuilds the habit you are trying to remove.
Coach your guests
Ask visitors to ignore the dog until it is settled, then greet calmly with four paws on the floor. Guests who say 'I don't mind' are the main reason this problem persists.
